Current Projects: Adam Rise, Thy Mansion Wants Thee

Adam Rise, Thy Mansion Wants Thee; the title is taken from Milton's Paradise Lost.

Marshal Henry meets with a group of four young fathers every other week as sort of a mentor. After one of these men tells him about his teenage son losing a key wrestling match because he obeyed the rules of his upbringing and refused to fight a girl (one opponent was female), the Professor (as Marshal is affectionately called by those he mentors), takes the opportunity to introduce this small group to the long established reality of authentic manhood….a reality that he believes is under siege and in danger of being eradicated.  And for his study guide, he has chosen over twenty classic poems from such renowned poets as Rudyard Kipling, William Shakespeare, Berton Braley, Elizabeth Browning, John Milton,  Jack London, Percy Shelly, William Blake, and many more that lend concrete imagery to what masculinity has always been understood to be.  The areas of conversation deal with purpose, character, war, love, altruism, faith, and more. So sit in with the Professor and his mentees while they pour over great poetry in search  what authentic manhood really looks like.
